Valentine’s Day Bucket for Your Sweetie!

image

So if you’ve stumbled upon this blog because of this super cute Valentine’s Day bucket, that’s GREAT! It’s pretty much the only interesting thing on here… I had to make it for one of my classes and haven’t really used it sense. I just needed some way to share this amazing Valentine’s gift that my roommate & I came up with!

Pretty much all of the supplies and snacks came from the Dollar Tree, even the bucket and ribbon! We got the cardstock paper at Michael’s- it was on sale!! We used it for the “punny” sayings and also made a coupon book, which we called “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Valentine’s Specials” would be really cute, too!

So here’s what we used and our sayings (except the dirty ones, lol)!

Pop Corn Bucket- Sorry this is kinda corny, but I hope it makes you smile
Pop Corn- I love you so much I could pop!
Swedish Fish (the small boxes of gold fish would be cute too)- Out of all the fish in the sea, you’re the fish for me
Skittles- You’re my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
Starbursts- You’re my shining star
Milky Way- I love you to the Milky Way and back
Hershey Kisses- Your kisses make me melt
Hot Tamales- You’re one hot tamale/You’re a hottie
Reese’s Pieces- I love you to pieces
Blow Pops- um, just use your imagination for this one lol
Nutter Butters- I’m nutty for you
Animal Crackers- We did a bunch of different sayings for this one based on what animals were included. here are some of ‘em:
I’d be lion if I said I didn’t love you
I love you beary much
Wild about you
*I saw this one for rhino cookies: Horny for you (hahaha)
& we did a couple more that are slightly inappropriate about monkeys & elephants, lol

This was really fun to make and is so SO adorable! Also, one of the coupons is for a movie night, so the popcorn and popcorn bucket are perfect!

Hello again, Tumblr

Wow. It’s definitely been a while! After I was finished with the tumblr blogs for English I was going to stop blogging all together. But now, I’m not so sure. I kind of like it, buuut some of the things I say/ways I say them, are really confusing and uninteresting. Sooo I guess we’ll see.

And that ends this entry because I desperately need to do some school work.

Peaceee.

Oranges?

Headed to the Orange Bowl babyyyy!!!! I’m so excited cause I get to go for band! YAY! Haha They even threw oranges on the field.. didn’t know they could do that but it was funny :P
I just wanna say Saturday at the game was absolutely AMAZING! And cold… but who cares, cause it was AMAZING!!!!! :D okay, we messed up a little during halftime cause apparently they don’t paint the numbers the same number of steps from the out of bounds-ness as they do at college stadiums so they tripped us up a little bit, buuuut who cares, we can fix that lol It’s all about them HOKIESSSSS<3! That pretty much made my whole week/weekend Even though Thursday night we had to practice in the snow… so we couldn’t really enjoy it cause we were working and then Saturday we had to practice in the sleet at a university in Charlotte. In case you were wondering, sleet does NOT feel good when it hits you in the face. Rain is no fun either buuuut oh well, the game made up for all of that!

Can’t wait for the Orange Bowl!
And Christmas Break! YES! Almost here! :D

The Rest of my Break

Aside from being sick, my break was really great. I missed one Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt’s house in Lynchburg. We used to go to my grandparents’ house in Greensboro, NC, but after my aunt had her kids, it was just easier to do it at her house so her side of the family and her husband’s side of the family could get together all at once. Even though I like it way way way WAY better at my grandparents’, I did miss the food haha. Luckily, Friday we all made it over to my Granny’s (mom’s mom) which is like two minutes from my house. There was A LOT of food because my aunt always wants to make a ton like she’s cookin for 50 people! She made these things called nutty pigs… it was the first time she made them so my cousin asked what it was and my aunt told her pig nuts. They were actually pretty good. Oh, and they’re really a water chestnut (or something like that) with bacon wrapped around it and dipped/coated/smothered in bbq sauce. They we played a card game, screw your neighbor. Which was SO fun. The game isn’t really that fun, it’s more of who you play it with. And you can play it with as many people as you want. After that I had to leave to come back to Tech because I had band practice at 9am for the game. Even though I wanted to go to the game I didn’t really feel like coming back here just yet. I have a lot of work to do and a lot of studying to do, and I really just don’t feel like it. I can’t wait till Christmas and winter break!

…and then there was one

So the week I’ve been waiting for since—what? August?—is finally here. Not going as great as I thought it would, though; in fact, I wish I had the power to rewind the hands of time because here it is Wednesday, and this week as been HORRIBLE. Okay, Friday and Saturday were okay, but man, Sunday pretty much ruined it for every other day.
Sunday my boyfriend and I ended up getting sick. I don’t mean that one sneeze, two cough, runny nose, head ache sick, I mean the throw up sick. I threw up 5 times—the last few times I was just throwin up liquid and I had only had like 2 sips of drink. My boyfriend, on the other hand, was a little luckier and he only threw up twice. So then came Monday, and I pretty much slept alllll day. My head felt really hot to me and like it weighed 100 pounds so I finally made my mom take my temperature and I had a little fever. At about that time, it was time for the football game so my dad kicked me out of there—not because he’s  jerk or anything, but mainly because my bed would feel much better, and it did. The sheets were so cold, which felt sooo good cause I was so hot. So then I took 2 Tylenols, and was knocked out until 6am (then I got some drink and went back to sleep). I slept soo much. And I still kinda feel exhausted cause I’ve barely eaten anything.

So here are a few things to mention:
1. After I got kicked out of the living room, my mom Lysol’d the whole room, and pretyy much everything else I’d touched.
2. Sunday when I was sick, my dad wasn’t home so my mom was cleanin up all my ish.
3. Anytime I needed something—like drink—my mom always brought it.
4. I barely saw my   dad, well I mean there were a couple times Monday when he came by my room and asked me if I was okay. Tuesday, however, he left really early in the morning to go to Greensboro to work on his parents’ house. And I have no idea when he got back home cause I hadn’t seen him.
5. I was with my mom a lot. Also, we were in the same vehicle, and I went with her to the store.

Now, guess who got sick? Yep, my dad is the one who gets sick. This morning, 9:45 am. And getting sick like this is sooo bad for him because he has Addison’s Disease, and when he can’t take his medicine it gets even worse. It basically makes him really weak and even drops his blood pressure. He’s so hard-headed—you can get a shot buuut he told my mom to wait to take him to go get it. He’s thrown up 4 times already, so hopefully that’s all. My mom went to get him some medicine that my aunt told her helps you STOP throwin up, soo hopefully that’ll stay in his system and work.

Lastly, I REALLY hope no one else gets this—my dad was at his parents’ house so I really hope they don’t get this; I’m pretty sure I’m not still contagious so I went to my Granny’s (mom’s mom), and I was layin down over there after we brought her groceries in; and I definitely don’t want my mom to get this! Ugh! this such soo much! I really need to get better (I think I would be better if I could just eat), because I’m supposed to cook like half of the Thanksgiving food for my Granny’s on Friday because she’s too tired to do it all. Seriously, I have to make a cake, a pumpkin log (soo delicious!), banana pudding, broccoli and cheese casserole, some kind of bean thing (ew, lol), anddd I feel like there’s something else but I’m not sure.
Looks like we’re gonna miss Thanksgiving at my dad’s side of the family, but hopefully we can make it to my mom’s side.

Sorry, this is long and gross.
Oh anddd in case you didn’t figure out why I named this “…and then there was one” it’s because three people live in my house, and two of the three are sick.

Excitement

WARNING: This post is a long rambling of excitement basically saying the same thing over, and over, and over… and over.

I am wayyy too excited for this weekend! :)

Even though technically it’s already here because it’s Friday but I just really can’t wait for tomorrow! …except that I have to get up at like 5am! Yikes! Buuut, it’ll all be worth it! I get to see my best frienddddd<3 I haven’t seen her since AUGUST! Gahhh it’s been TOO long! I can’t wait. So I’m goin to the UNC game (with the band, of course) and then after the game I’m gonna hangout with her because my dad and grandparents got tickets (my grandpa used to play football at UNC!) so I’ll have a ride back instead of riding the bus. Sooo I’m not really sure what we’re gonna do yet, and obviously we’re not gonna be able to stay out too late cause my dad is old and needs to go to sleep :P but we’re still gonna do SOMETHING! I miss her soo much, this sounds so gay, but it’s true! She’s the one I can usually turn to the most and even though we were best friends since like 8th grade… it’s like we become even more best friends lol and I haven’t seen her in so long I’m just so excited (I know this is repetitive, sorry!) But yeah, I’m just SO F’N EXCITEDDDD! Eeek! Haha annddd she should me she might not come home for Thanksgiving Break cause they only get Wednesday-Friday off :( so at least I’ll get to see her this weekend before Christmas Break!

I love my HOKIES; I really hope we win this weekend! :)

Martinsville McDonald’s Employees Make Me Smile

I was hanging out with my best friend Megan on Friday—we went to the high school football game then I had to take a trip to Wal Mart to get some hair stuff, a trip to Wal Mart that I thought would only take 5 minutes. Boy was I wrong, it ended up takin like an hour!

First we ran into this guy who used to work with Megan at Wendy’s but now he works at McDonald’s. So they were talkin and then I was like let’s walk and talk so I can get my stuff. Sooo on the hair-stuff isle we run into more McDonald’s employees! I knew they both—just their names though not like really know them. Thennn one’s brother/the other’s cousin, comes from the other isle.

So the youngest one is so funny… and he reminds me of the Asian guy from the Hangover. Well, actually they’re all pretty funny lol they had Megan and me laughin the wholeee time!

Then they got on the subject of the “n” word and some offensive word in Korean (I think), which I still don’t know what it means… I think it means gay or something though. Then we get on the subject of how to differentiate between different Asians, and even though it was serious, it was funny because of how into it I and the black guy (from Wedy’s) were. Which then led us to the question, “Why do black people have nappy hair?” which was just too hilarious because I wasn’t expecting it to be asked that way in such a serious tone! Haha! Sooo then we talked about that… which led us down the hair product isle to “ethnic hair supplies” and whether or not the Asian girl with the pretty hair should use the hair product with the black woman on it, and why there are separate “ethnic” hair products for black people.

After about a thirty minute conversation, we proceeded to the checkout line where the black guy was told to “stop acting so black” which then made me laugh because I thought of my friend Josh who is racists against his own people haha (not really, buuut kinda really lol). Then we gossiped with the cashier about the yelling that was going on in Wal Mart… whooo does that?! lol

This probably doesn’t sound funny to you, so I guess it’s just one of those “you had to be there” situations just to hear it the way it was said. Prettyyyy hilarious :)

Trick or Treat?

Oh, how I would love to take both, but this year I only got the treat.

I went home for Halloween weekend mainly for one of my best friend’s birthday! (yeah, her bday is on Halloween, what a witch :P) We went out which was definitely a treat for all of us. By the way, she loved her gift! I got her a Dexter’s Laboratory shirt, not because she watches the show, but because she dates this guy Dant Dexter (yeah, I know right lol). And I put it in the little take-out box type thing that had candy corn on it then I decorated it even more it was really cute! And a lot of fun to do—except all the glitter that got EVERYWHERE! &I made her cupcake and she loved them too (seriously, I made 24… between all of us who went out, my friend probably took 18 home with her, she texted me Sunday and told me they were all gone!)

Then I went home and my boyfriend had bought be Just Dance 2 (wii game) that is OMG soooo much fun! :D So my other friend who went out with us that night stayed with me and we played that game til like 3 am! Haha! We had a blast, but we were soooo tired!

The rest of the weekend was also a treat because I got to go shopping, then for dinner my parents and I went to my grandparents’ house and we had steak and crab legs! Ahhhmazing! Then I hung out with my boyfriend and my nephews came over Sunday :)

But no tricks because where I’m from, Halloween is celebrated today (MONDAY November 1st)! That’s so crazy; whoooo celebrates Halloween on the day after Halloween?! So I missed Halloween, which is pretty disappointing because at my house for the Halloween and Christmas we pretty much go all out. For Halloween, decorations are everywhere, ones that make sound and ones that are just creepy (a lot of motion-activated ones give trick-or-treaters a good scare… and one time my dad MADE a vampire pop up out of a coffin when you press a button on a remote… the lamp posts have masks on them which is pretty creepy); there are also a few dummies with masks, a lot of fake spider web stuff, and we use a strobe light and a fog machine. (and this still isn’t all of it!) Even though I’m 18 years old, I’m willing to admit it can get pretty creepy on my front porch Halloween night; I can only imagine what the 6 and 7 year olds feel like… well actually I kind of know. As if the décor wasn’t enough, my dad dresses up in this jump suit thing and puts on a totally creepy werewolf mask that has scared me as far back as I can remember. In his costume, he’ll sit on the front porch with the candy bucket on his lap. A while back my dad used to do something else, so it would just be a newspaper-stuffed dummy sitting there (same costume and all). So when the kids come to grab the candy, my dad grabs their hand or shakes the bucket and they FREAK OUTTT! It’s pretty hilarious—if they’re not really young and if they don’t start crying! It’s a pretty good laugh and a pretty good time.

Unfortunately, I missed that. But I suppose all of my “treats” made up for it, and anyway, I had a great weekend! :)

Beast Mode

So today I have pretty much been in beast mode. I feel like I’ve been nothing for so long, but amazingly I’ve gotten SO much done! And when I did one thing I would go back to doing nothing then I’d do what I had to do then no nothing and on and on until I ran out of actual somethings to do—this is like the first time since the beginning of the semester. So then I’ve been in beast mode with personal stuff I need to do. For example, my friend’s birthday is coming up (her birthday is on Halloween! Yeah, she’s a witch :D) so I’ve been playin what to get her. Actually, I got her one thing a few weeks ago, I would say what but I’m not sure if she reads my blog or not since she has one she’s really into blogging. But it’s pretty hilarious, but she might not think so… it’s one of those things… only not. Maybe I’ll put some pics up of what it is when she opens it. So that wasn’t much money and I like to get, ya know, a pretty good amount/quality of things for my bffs birthdays! Sooo I’ve been deciding what to get her and it costs like $50—I don’t go that all out… maybe Christmas lol. So I’ve been trying to find it cheaper buuut I think I might just get another KIND of that. So I was pretty excited that I know about that stuff already! And we’re gonna go get some food—either El Parell or Elizabeth’s Pizza probably. Anddd I get to put my good baking skills to work ;) well I’m probably gonna do that Friday before I go home. Thennnn I was online and I found the CUTEST thing to put her stuff in… not just a regular boring ol birthday bag which I’m really excited about cause I get to personalize it and be creative! (oh and on that site I saw [FINALLY] how to make these necklaces that I’ve been trying to figure out sooo I’m def. gonna have to find time to do that!) Thennn next month, my other best friend’s bday is comin up and today she said something and I was like omg I gotta do that! Again, I would say what but I’m not sure if she reads this either. But if you really want to know, ask and I’ll comment on your blog lol because it can’t be any fun reading and not knowing. And alsooo I am in the process of making plans for her to come up here this week! :D

But pretty much I’ve been in beast mode because 1. I’ve gotten all my work done 2. I have bdays planned out pretty good 3. I still had time to waste time lol and 4. I basically, for once, actually know what I’m gonna do this week!

So excited for this week to be over and start the weekend! (Let’s go Hokies!)
Then for that week to be over and start that weekend!

An Old Person’s Topic…

Let me be like an old person and strike up conversation by talking about the weather… and only the weather. :P

So basically, this weather is CRAZY!
How in the worlddd do you go from 80/90 degree weather—warm, sunny, sweating just from walking to class, directly to what? –50/60 degree weather, even cooler? Not to mention the rain, clouds, WIND, ugh! Thennn jump back up to 80 degrees! Just in time for the Marching Virginians (and Corps guys, too!) to put on their wool uniforms and be in the SUN (getting sun burnt, on our endzone side anyway) in the middle of the day—literally, 12 noon—for at least 3 hours!!!
I just don’t get it. This is crazy! And it’s seriously messing up my health. Okay, not so seriously like life-or-death, or flue, or anything, but I’ve had a cold for over a week, actually, going on 2 weeks. Even though I’m kind of dreading the really, really cold weather, I do want it to just stay about the same temperature because all of this dramatic fluctuation is driving me and my sinuses crazy!

SideNote: On the days it has been cold, it would actually be really nice without the wind! :)

So other than this crazy weather,

I LOVE VIRGINIA TECH! and LET’S GO HOKIES! :D
